As a psychology major, I was well aware and informed of a variety of romantic
maladies and assorted dysfunctions. I had been clinical in my expectations and
evaluations of my own relationships, so when I was suddenly dumped via email by
someone I was sure was in love with me, I was shocked that I simply lost all
ability to cope.
